1 more day to go!
The last week spent in India = simply maddness!
Workload reaches its peak and we're constantly rushing against time.
Never thought it'd be such a hectic week. Working hours extend beyond the midnight.
10am - 6pm: Office work; scripting; filming etc. for "Behind the scenes of Sesame India"
8pm - 6am: Post production; video editing etc.
A few hours of sleep is all that we can afford. Exhaustion overwhelmed.
Last night was equally crazy. We left the house for the night editing shift at abt 11pm+. The main gate was alrdy locked and we don't haf the keys to it. Reluctant to disturb our landlord or housemate from their sleep, we climbed over tha gate. Ahead of us - dark roads...no sight of any auto rickshaw. Thankfully, we managed to catch an auto ricksaw driver who was sleeping on his vehicle. We woke him up and paid extra to get to the office.
Work, sick, work, ill...battling till the very end in this last lap of our stay here.
Now - frail looks, heavy eye bags, sore throat, cough, cold, slight fever...
But I guess it's all worthwhile.
It's time for us to bid everyone gd bye.
Home sweet home.
Singapore, here I come! (:

5 more days to go!
It has been such a hectic day. I don't have time to blog abt my Jaipur trip yet. Anyway it's already 10pm here and we're still at the office. We're gonna spent the night here till 6am tmr. Toffee is here with us, sleeping soundly behind me. If you're seriously wondering what we're doing here, please don't be mistaken, we're not being ill treated by the company. It's all on our own accord. Actually, we're staying back to do video editing for an upcoming video presentation requested by Moses, my sch director. Since the entire design sch is gonna view it, we reckon that our reputations are at stake and we'd better churn out at least a reasonable production. Now that explains our sleepless night and my current headache.

6 more days to go!
The weekend spent at Jaipur was amazing! We had so much fun! I suppose this is probably the most enjoyable part of my stay here. The efforts of those who had eagerly recommended us to visit Jaipur were certainly not in vain.
I'll definitely blog more about it tmr with the new additional of 200+ photos! Actually I could have taken more beautiful pictures, but my camera battery die out on me so quickly. Anyway, I gotta rush home now. It's already 7pm+ and I think Toffee may be getting hungry!

Nearly 8 more days to go!
It's already 9pm and we're back at the office.
Left some important documents here and had to make a trip back here to retrieve it.
Anyway, please be rest assured that I'm in a safe zone, not affected by any riots etc. So, no worries alright?
We're leaving for Jaipur, the Pink City of India, abt 260km away from New Delhi super early tmr morning and will only be back on Sunday night. A fun weekend ahead! (:
Posted by Philothea` @ Friday, April 14, 2006 | I was just random blog surfing. Seriously, I've enough to read from my 'lovers' list. Wonder why I try to include everybody. Maybe a short list will be do me good.
Anyway the following post from Hannah really warmed my heart. I once share similiar tots...somehow, I know I've forsaken my 1st love. My excitement for Christ has ceased as compared to years ago. I've grown to be more skeptical instead of embracing His truth like a child of faith.
i was thinking about certain stuff today, and i realised more and more people are "conforming to the ways of the world." it may be as outright as rebellion against God, or it may be as subtle and unsuspecting as having worldly perspectives. and honestly im afraid; what if even the people closest to me turn away from Him, will i forsake my God as well? what if pressure and influence around me is so overbearing, will i still stick to my beliefs at the risk of being left with strained relationships in return? and the worst thing is, things take place so gradually and measuredly you don't even realise you're drifting from your Maker.
but then again, what does the world offer that God cannot give, what is better than living in the plans He has for us? why are we so blind, so short-sighted and unable to see what lies ahead, what really matters, what we really need, the joy of living for the King of kings? why do we forsake our Lover for all the temporal things in life and cling on to them for dear life, and why are we letting satan win battle after battle? why do we forget God's goodness so easily and take blessings for granted, but bear grudges over disappointments for so long? why :(
i've been through that stage, when i took a step out of the narrow road and joined everyone else on the wide one, savouring the 'excitement' of following the masses, and also the deception that life in the world was better than life in the Kingdom. then, God drew me back and embraced me in His arms again, and from that moment i knew everything i thought was great was far from even being good. nothing beats living with God, nothing. yes there are countless ups and downs, innumerable disappointments, long periods of spiritual drought.. but isn't there unspeakable joy, undying love, undeserved grace and overflowing goodness as well? at the end of it all i know my God remains faithful always, even when i am faithless.
But deep inside my heart, I know He is real beyond reasons.
I hope I'm far from abandoning my faith and far from rejecting His love for me.
A constant reminder prompted by the holy spirit:
Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. -Matthew 7:13

9 more days to go!
Thank God it's Friday!
While most of you are having a Good Friday holiday, I'm at the office right now, working on a few scripts. It's not a holiday over here at India. Anyway, Jerry, our usual lunch delivery guy is on leave today. He's a Christian and I suppose it's a gd day for him to be off today. So, we'll be settling our own lunch.
Many, many 1st times this weekend:
Not celebrating Easter in church
Visiting Jaipur, the Pink City of India
Taking the Railway train in India
Staying in a hotel in India
and much more!
There's just so much I can be thankful for each day, if only I remember to count my blessings. Good Friday and Easter mean great signifiance to my life.
I like the way Shirley Melinda puts it across on her blog:
Good Friday is the day when man's intense hatred and His utmost love met
and the latter prevails...
How deep the Father's love for us
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure
How great the pain of searing loss
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the Chosen One
Bring many sons to glory
Behold the man upon a cross
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed I hear my mocking voice
Call out among the scoffers
It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished
I will nost boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection
Why should I gain from His reward
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom
'How deep the Father's love' by Sarah Sadler
Our God is no masochist with an odd need to suffer. He tasted death not to enjoy it but to stare it down. The glory of the Cross, is that Jesus was a wounded healer. He does not heal by waving a magic wand above the hurting. Nor does he traffic in prayer cloths. His healing power derives from his own pain, from having iron spikes driven through his body. Wounds become a loving God. Only with such triumph can he offer the world his healing life. - Calvin Miller
I'll never know how much it costs to see my sin upon that cross...
This finite mind of mine will never be able to comprehend the full extent of His love for me.

13 more days to go!
13 more days to go!
I just completed my logbook entry for last week's reflection, reluctantly. Actually I feel that I am not learning much the past week. I woke up a few mornings, and felt like not going to work. Somehow, I managed to cast my negativity aside and be less emotionally driven. Maybe my motivation is ceasing, or maybe there's really nothing to do at work. Yet, at the same time, I'm occupied with a lot of personal or freelance projects.
Moses, my sch director text me over msn yesterday and asked 'You doing ok?' Most of the time, I would reply with a standard answer. "Yepps. I'm fine", and give an assuring smiley face so I wouldn't be prompted further. Well, I'm really fine. Sometimes, I just don't like to express myself much with the computer keyboard. Or let's just say hello to my lazy fingers. If you skype/call me, you can expect a lot more. I'm better at using my mouth. Heez.
Anyway, I've just uploaded new photos from my Agra tour! I'll blog more about it later! ;p
On the bus

Check out the rest of the photos here! (92 photos added to my 2nd album)

17 more days to go!
Happy Birthday to you, my lovely jiayi! (:Thanks for being such a great friend & being there for me in times of need!
The good things I could say about you are infinite,
but I'll only take a minute to say that
my world's a better place with you in it!
Dear friend, I've been thinking about you lately
Wondering how you've been getting by
I have the feeling that you are hurting
Something's telling me inside
These words are coming down from heaven
I hope they'll make you realise
There's so much love He has for you
More than you can comprehend
He can wipe away your tears
Give you strength to carry on
Through these hard and painful days
He will make a way for you
Dear friend, I wish that you were with me
Words come easy eye to eye
But since the distance separates us
Let Him hold you when you cry
There's so much love He has for you
And a peace you can't describe
So that's why I'm pouring out my heart
On this page you're reading now
What I have I give to you
I can't keep it all inside
Like a river to the sea
His love is flowing out of me
the love of Christ I share with you
And like it has always been said
"Friends will be friends forever if the Lord is the Lord of them"
Let me cherish you, forever.

18 more days to go!
Work = slack these days. I'm practically assigned to nothing. Even the producers are idle.
When I entered the editing studio, the producers seemed to be in a serious discussion so I just kept quiet and listened...it turned to be another one of their self-made 'live reality show'!
Producer Dawa: Thank you for watching...
Now, we're privileged to have with us the nominees for the best actor and actress of this year's Oscars Awards...let us welcome 'Philothea and Saurabh'!
Producer Saurabh: Thank You! (waves)
Me:...
And I played along for quite some time.
Think they're driven by boredom as well. They entertained themselves with another 'reality show' yesterday where Producer Saurabh gave a lousy catwalk tutorial.
Given the free time, I know I should complete my logbook but I just loath to just fill in the blanks and occupy the lines. It's just quite pointless. Even my supervisor doesn't ask for it till the end of internship.
Anyway, Toffee was given the rabies vaccination yesterday. Producer Saurabh gave IZ a lift on his motorbike and they brought Toffee to the office...everyone went gaga over it! "Oh, what a cute thing!" We visited the vet, which was just a min's walk away from the office and had an interesting discovery.
Dr Kumar: Name of your puppy?
Me: Toffee!
Dr Kumar: Sex?
Me: Male
Dr Kumar: Lift it up so I can check
Me: Ok
Dr Kumar: Oh, it's a female.
Me: What? It has a dick!
Dr Kumar: No, that's the vagina.
Me: But that thing is quite long.
LOL! What an identity crisis...how ignorant of me.
So, Toffee is a female, just as what we had thought so initially before we saw its private part.

Anyway, the weather is starting to take its toll on me. It's getting hotter these days.
The air conditioner in my room is finally coming to good use.
I realised that I'm not homesick, just sick of being here. There's a Tantra (India's local graphic tees) shirt printed with the following: "I would love India if I didn't have to stay in it." But I guess I'll start to miss here once I return to Singapore. Such irony is expected.

20 more days to go! (edited post; photos added)
Wow! That's less than 3 weeks!
Wow! That's less than 3 weeks!
I'm not in the best mood to blog today. Anyhow, here's an update of my weekends.
Since last week, we've been highly reliant on home deliveries. Do you know that the supermarkets here, as well as many restaurants offer free delivery services here? It makes things a lot easier. Even if it were just eggs and bread, it wouldn't be a problem for the supermarket deliveryman to make a trip to your house. We've collected a lot of menus and deciding what's for dinner is such a chore.
Me: What's for dinner?
IZ: Anything.
IZ: What's for dinner today?
Me: Anything.
Last Friday, we dined at this Italian restaurant "Big Chill" which is highly recommended by all our colleagues. The shakes and food were really good but it's quite costly. We stayed home on Saturday, apart from the morning jog and ordered food from Yo!China. The home delivery portions were seriously huge! The servings for one can feed at least 2-3 persons. Anyway, I think Yo!China should really open a franchise in Singapore. Trust me, you'll like their food. Maybe I should email them about this suggestion. Haha.
Sunday was a really long day. We woke up as early as 5am+. Producer Saurabh invited us to his hometown, Pinipat, which is 90km away from New Delhi. He really wanted us to have a deeper experience of India, so he arranged for us to take the public bus there. It was about a 2 hr long journey. The bus ride was quite pleasant, unlike what we had expected. It was interesting to note that people actually come on board and start selling stuff on the bus.
Since we were out the whole day and we can't possibly leave Toffee alone at home, we made a trip to Producer Dawa's house early in the morning and left Toffee with her. Later, she sms-ed us in the afternoon to inform us that she brought Toffee over to Nancy's house as she had an appointment with her friends.
Anyway, it was a great experience being with Saurabh and his family. We visited his house and another village where his cows were kept and they actually have their own rice fields.

We were exhausted at the end of the day after picking Toffee up from Nancy's house and skipped dinner. I'll be uploading more photos tomorrow! (: The weekends ahead will be fully packed with activities. There're still many places we've yet to visit! I'll reserve the last week for my shopping extravagance. Pray hard that you're on my must-get-souvenirs-for-them list. Haha.
